St Teresa's Parish Family
My dear people of St. Teresa's Parish,

“To LOVE is to give all and oneself!”

These words expressed by our lovely patron saint, challenges us to follow God's will in loving Him and our neighbors with the most perfect love possible. Indeed, the reward of Eternal Happiness is granted only after a life of true LOVE - giving all and oneself!

St. Teresa of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face offers us the Little Way - a way to holiness, perfection and Eternal Happiness. Her devotion to the Child Jesus calls us to a life of spiritual childhood which she lived impeccably. It is a life of humility, simplicity and childlike trust in God who is our merciful, loving Father. Her devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus reminds us to resist all temptations toward self-seeking. Just as the scourged Holy Face of Jesus was marred beyond recognition, so we should do all things out of pure love, without seeking approval or recognition.

Jesus once told His Apostles that, unless they become like little children, they will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. The mission of our St. Teresa's Parish Family is to follow this lesson of Jesus, to imitate the example of St. Teresa, to foster a complete childlike trust in our Heavenly Father, to LOVE by giving all and ourselves!

Knowing Jesus requires personal encounters with our Lord. This happens every hour of every day through perpetual Eucharistic adoration and the sacraments-especially the Mass and Confession. We know our Lord through Marian and St. Teresa devotions, the Rosary, Bible studies, RCIA and doctrine classes, retreats, the Pink Sisters, the audio/visual library, and, in a very special way, through the powerful prayers of all members of our parish family united in Faith.

Knowing Jesus and making Him known is not a single event. It takes place each and every day of our lives. It is a daily call to holiness, a daily renewal of our relationship with our King and Lord. It is in this daily living that we follow the example of St. Teresa. She achieved a degree of spiritual perfection worthy of Heaven. She is recognized as one of the great saints of our age because of her zeal for souls. St. Teresa sought in everything she did to follow God's will-to know Jesus and to make Him known.

Our parish, as a family and as individuals, comes to know Jesus every day through prayer, the sacraments, and activities. At the same time, we are making Jesus known, to each other, to our children, to those who have not been blessed with the gift of Faith. Knowing Jesus and making Him known was the means of eternal salvation for St. Teresa. The same means are open to each and every one of us through our parish family of St. Teresa.
